Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing Brief you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Brief is a regulatory applicability engine. It produces structured outputs about which FCA and PRA provisions may apply to a firm based on the profile you provide.

3. Not legal advice

Brief outputs are informational and do not constitute legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. You remain responsible for your own regulatory obligations and should obtain qualified advice before acting on any output.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, reverse engineer it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use it to build a competing product. You must not upload unlawful content or content that infringes third-party rights.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity carried out under your account.

6. Intellectual property

The Brief platform, software, encoded matrices, predicate library, and user interface are owned by us or our licensors. See our copyright notice for licensing details on regulatory source content.

7. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or reliance on outputs.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may close your account at any time.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
